Love, Culture, and the Waitangi Tribunal
For reasons I can’t fully explain, there was very muted reporting of the Court of Appeal overturning a previous High Court judgement which held that a Minister of the Crown does not have to attend a summons by the Waitangi Tribunal. The new ruling says that the Minister, in this case Karen Chhour, needs to attend.

Charter Schools – A Triumph of Superior Ideology
Charter schools are due to return to New Zealand in greater numbers than ever, with the first ready to start operating in time for term one in 2025. Predictably, advocates and opponents are split cleanly down ideological lines with socialists and teacher unions vehemently opposed to what PPTA Vice-President Keiran Gainsford calls an “unproven failed experiment.” Disturbingly, a man who doesn’t realise charter schools can’t be both unproven and failed also teaches children.
