The Tauranga City Council staff held a protest about wages during the swearing-in ceremony for their new Councillors, on Thursday.

I would be willing to bet that the foreground placard bearer never contributed a cent towards it. My guess is that it was:

  • Produced on Council equipment paid for by the ratepayers
  • Printed on Council paper/card paid for by the ratepayers
  • Using Council ink paid for by the ratepayers

If the placards were not produced in-house then they probably came from the Public Service Association and, once again, the bearer did not pay out of her own pocket for the sign.
