It’s a time-honoured tradition for oldies to look down on the Yoof of Today, but it’s rarely anything more than geriatric grousing. Most recently, it’s been the fashion for elderly Boomers to sneer at the “snowflake generation”, and especially their ovine obedience to “progressive” nostrums about everything, from “migrants” to gender.
But it’s starting to look as if the kids are alright, after all. A wave of protests organised on social media is sweeping British schools. Much of it led by the girls who might finally be realising that they’re getting the burnt end of the rainbow stick. As The BFD recently reported, girls at a Dover school protested at what they saw as the school’s too-lenient treatment of Afghan migrant boys who have allegedly assaulted and raped girls.
Another riotous protest has broken out in Oxfordshire – this time over “gender neutral” uniforms and a ban on girls wearing skirts.
Police were called to the Warriner School in Banbury, Oxfordshire, on Friday to break up a ‘disturbance’ and the school was forced to close for the day after students rebelled against the rules.
The school has since backed down, saying it had reversed its decision to enforce a gender-neutral uniform policy.
What got the girls’ backs up?
Staff sparked the row after sending a letter home to parents informing them that from September, all pupils would be ‘required to wear black tailored trousers’ and a ‘gender neutral Physical Education Kit’.
Female students would be banned from wearing skirts to school from September, and during summer months all students would be made to wear knee-length black shorts.
Cue the usual woke nostrums about “diversity and inclusion”. The kids – and their parents – are having none of it.
But this prompted furious students to stage a mutiny against the new rules, with dozens of parents backing them.
Videos appeared on social media platforms showing scores of students protesting in the school grounds, with one pupil wearing a skirt over their trousers […]
One mother, Jenny, said: “The children have arranged this themselves without parent influence, the teachers are supervising them and the police are on site now as well.
“As a parent, I’m extremely proud of the way the students are conducting themselves today, they are being peaceful, respectful and keeping high spirits […] It feels like they are punishing girls for wanting to be girls, and that doesn’t feel inclusive” […]
Another parent said he “will not be acknowledging your school uniform update and my daughter will continue to wear skirts and other female clothing to school”.
He called the letter “nonsense” and “anti-female”.

Speaking of “anti-female”, another new school rule that sparked student protests is simply mind-boggling in its crassness and intrusion.
At Penrice Academy, students reportedly ‘flipped tables’ and broke fences over rule changes which also forced girls to show a ‘red card’ when they are on their period […]
One parent to two daughters who attend Castle View School in Canvey Island, Essex, said one had been denied use of a bathroom during lesson time despite being on her period.

So-called “TikTok protests” have continued to rock Britain’s schools as hundreds of pupils rebelled against teachers over new rules, such as the introduction of unisex toilets.

One woman told the Liverpool Echo her ‘granddaughter came home mortified that her skirt height was inspected by a male teacher in front of male pupils’.
A parent claimed some pupils had been left “crying and embarrassed”.

Naturally, the school authorities are harrumphing.

What “basic school rules”, he doesn’t say – but a peek at the school’s website turns up some interesting stuff.
CHANGING/TOILET FACILITIES
There are no issues under child protection or safeguarding that prohibit transgender students from using the toilet which reflects their identity – the student will be consulted of their preference.There is provision within FCAT for unisex (All Gender) toilets. Transgender students will be able to use these facilities which have been labelled sensitively and appropriately.

It’s notable that these protests are being led by girls. Perhaps it’s just another social media fad – or perhaps girls are finally realising that there’s no place for them in Transworld.
