A Fairy Tale

Lightindarkplaces

The magical shield that kept reality at bay shimmered protectively around the happy kingdom.

On the other side of it Fairy Dust and her entourage were trying their best to make a decision.

“The plague makers from yon east deny everything,” said the intelligence fairy.

“Well I believe them,” said the human rights fairy.

“Draconian measures must be taken,” said the medical fairy.

“That’s oif there is a ploig,” said the leader of the opposition from the other side of the magical shield.

“There is a plague,” said the intelligence fairy. “It came from the plague makers to the east.”

“It’s racist to say that,” said the human rights fairy

“Full lockdown, total blackout,” demanded the medical fairy.

“It’s so hard,” said Fairy Dust. “We must consult Winston the Wise.”

The wise one lived on the eighth floor of the happy kingdom. It was a long climb  and there were snares and stumbles on the way but Fairy Dust and her entourage had made the journey many times. None of them were quite sure what the wise one did up there but they all sensed his power.

When they finally reached the top it was raining and the door was locked. As usual they stood and waited patiently to be invited inside while someone laughed at them from the other side of the door.

After many minutes the door opened and they entered a room like the inside of castle Dracula. Winston the wise was seated at the head of a long table. He waved his hand and the door mysteriously slammed shut behind them.

The entourage shuffled inside nervously. No one seemed to want to be in front.

The justice fairy gave Fairy Dust a helpful shove forward.

Smiling like a box of tombstones, she approached nervously.

“We have need of your guidance, oh wise one” said Fairy Dust.

“Maybe I will and maybe I won’t,” said Winston the Wise taking a swig of something from one of the many potion bottles on the table.

“We were wondering,” said Fairy Dust. “Is it a real plague?”

“Yes,” said Winston the wise. “It came from the plague makers to yon east.”

“Ahh,” said Fairy Dust. “So does that mean we should we should lock everyone inside?”

Wisely the wise one remained silent.

“Yes we should,” said the medical fairy.

“The perfect chance chance to sprinkle more fairy dust,” said Fairy Dust happily.

“Hold your horses,” said Winston the Wise.

“The grand realignment approaches so best not waste it. I might have need of it a few months hence.”

Fairy Dust and her entourage nodded appreciatively at the truth of this revelation.

“Thank goodness for you oh wise one,” said Fairy Dust, bowing her head so low it almost banged the floor.

“Where would we be without you?”
