OPINION

In recent years we have seen the rise in left-wing extremism turbocharging the demonisation of basically everything and using brainwashed young people who don’t know any better as stormtroopers to enforce their lunacy. Words, statutes, history books, real events that we have all observed, historical figures; numerous other things – all have been demonised by the mob.

Due to almost all of this sort of stuff constituting a mental illness because we are simply “better” people, and because we are too busy taking part in day-to-day life, much of this has taken conservative people by surprise; caught us unawares. Nobody with even half a brain – (except David Seymour and the ACT party?) – believes men can get pregnant and give birth (a classic example), so when the rhetoric on this topic reached top gear conservatives genuinely wondered if it was all some sort of joke they didn’t quite understand. Once it became clear these lunatics were serious and were going to rigorously enforce their new ‘science’ many conservative people were unsure what to do.

There are many other examples of this sort of thing, dear reader; no need to recount them all. You know what’s been happening over the last few years with the emergence of what is known as ‘cancel culture’ whereby the good people find themselves in difficulties if they tell a dirty joke, or suggest there are only two genders, or question vaccines, or commit numerous other subjective sins against the leftist loonies.

For several years conservatives everywhere have simply whined and complained; shocked they had to walk on eggshells, tip-toeing around utterly preposterous nonsense lest it upsets the left-wing mob.

2022 has seen much of that change. Elon Musk purchased Twitter and unleashed many cats among the pigeons; a marvellous first step in the fightback against evil. Disney has basically gone bust. Other corporate boards of directors have seen their share prices collapse and are starting to take action, too. It’s all been fun to watch the house of cards tumble rather spectacularly.

The latest attempt to fight back against evil is over cancel culture’s deepest cause for concern – banks. Having a bank close your account, or freeze your hard-earned money for no better reason than a subjective ‘thought crime’ is just wickedness. Regulators have hitherto been unsympathetic when it occurs – presumably worried they may be next. But all that is about to change.

Dr Ben Carson, Larry Elder, and a musician (I must confess to never having heard of), John Rich are involved in a new banking venture. It is called Old Glory Bank and is encouraging people to reserve an account in the lead-up to the official launch on July 4th next year. From what I understand, Old Glory bank has been around for 120 years, and has a licence, but has now been taken over and will be relaunched next year (ie: they’ve basically taken over a 120-year-old banking license in order to reassure people it’s not a new, fly-by-night operation).

It is great to see that instead of moaning some people are getting stuck in and fighting back against cancel culture. I only hope some big-name organisations open accounts and transfer all their banking to Old Glory and tell outfits like Wells Fargo or Chase to get stuffed. The way to win is to boycott the leftist loonies and create a parallel economy.
