Writer David Cole has detailed how in the early 90s, both the German and Canadian governments secretly seeded anti-immigration groups with extremist provocateurs. While some of the German groups at least were genuinely “far-right”, it was the government moles who – acting on official instructions – whipped up acts of violence and harassment in order to discredit anyone who opposed mass immigration.

It turns out that America’s deep state has been getting in on the paid-Nazi stooge act, too.

The FBI allegedly paid a publisher of white supremacist literature more than $144,000 over 16-plus years to serve as a confidential informant, according to recent filings in an ongoing domestic extremism case.

These allegations were made earlier this month by Kaleb Cole, an accused member of the white supremacist group Atomwaffen.
Cole was arrested in February 2020 for allegedly participating in an Atomwaffen intimidation campaign against Jewish people and journalists of color.

Cole has a filed a motion to suppress the evidence seized by the FBI during a search of his home. Cole claims that the FBI failed to disclose that their snitch is a convicted felon on the take.

The natural response to this is: hey, this guy is a white supremacist. Screw that guy. This might seem fair enough – but, like it or not, even white supremacists have legal rights. If we choose to turn a blind eye to potential law-breaking by the state in this case, what right does anyone have to protest when the Feds use paid narks to set up, say, a BLM group? How about an opposition party?

As Robert Bolt wrote, in A Man for All Seasons, “When you’d cornered the Devil, and the Devil turned round to meet you, where would you run for protection, all the laws of England having been cut down and flattened? Who would protect you then?”

Either the law is equal for even the worst people, or it’s equal for none of us.

Leaving aside the legality of the FBI’s actions, the revelations about the paid white supremacist provocateur also raises the obvious question: What else has the deep state been up to?

The allegations about the Atomwaffen informant follow revelations about the heavy role FBI informants played in the failed plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. A Buzzfeed News investigation last month found that the FBI used at least 12 informants involved with the kidnapping—suggesting that the scheme might not have started in the first place without the FBI.

“Working in secret, they [the informants] did more than just passively observe and report on the actions of the suspects. Instead, they had a hand in nearly every aspect of the alleged plot, starting with its inception,” Buzzfeed reported. “The extent of their involvement raises questions as to whether there would have even been a conspiracy without them.”

Questions have also been raised about the role FBI informants may have played in the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riots.

This is not just foil-hat stuff. It’s a matter of historical record that, in the 1960s and 70s, the FBI’s COINTELPRO program illegally infiltrated political organisations on both sides of the political fence. Many, both left and right, were genuine extremists – but with the secret complicity of law enforcement agencies they were prodded into being even more extreme and violent.

The aim was not just to discredit these political movements, but to justify ever-more draconian government powers.

Such tactics have a long and odious history, from the forging of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion by the Tsarist secret police to the exploitation of the Reichstag fire.

Watching events over the past year, especially following the Capitol riot, it’s no stretch of the imagination that the deep state are up to their old tricks again.

We know that they are. We just don’t know how deep they are in it.
