Washington Gave $350 Million in COVID Funds to Migrants

A report by the Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC) details how funds from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) were used to provide for migrants who couldn’t get help due to their immigration status in Washington. The Evergreen State received $4.4 billion in SLFRF funding, which was created by President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan, and spent a few hundred thousand dollars of it on the undocumented.

“The $340 million project is categorized as a ‘cash transfer’ expenditure under the SLFRF, approved for the State of Washington,” the EPIC report explained. “This means the Biden Administration directly subsidized ‘undocumented’ immigration under the guise of Covid-19 pandemic relief.”

Paul Winfree, president and CEO of EPIC, told Fox News Digital that there is still $120 billion in unspent money from the fund. He’s asking lawmakers to halt its use. “Until Congress claws back this money, it will continue to serve as a magnet for illegal immigration,” he said.

The program ended early last year, and Washington wasn’t the only state to use Covid funds for illegal immigrants under Biden’s open borders policies. Arizona, for example, used federal funds for art, music, and dance classes for migrants.

Open Borders and Crime Spree

Last week’s headlines featured several migrants attacking police officers, as reported by Liberty Nation Editor-in-Chief Leesa K Donner. This week, illegal immigrants in New York City allegedly stole phones and purses from 62 women. A group of migrants were arrested on February 5 in the Bronx after a “citywide crime spree” according to ABC News. After a raid on the presumed safe house, seven suspects are expected to be charged with multiple robberies and grand larcenies.

The suspects are believed to be Venezuelans who would come up behind women walking alone on the sidewalk and grab their phones and purses. Detectives suggest the illegal immigrants were taking the phones so that they could access Apple Pay and use the linked credit cards to buy things in the US or Central America. The phones were then sent to Columbia to be wiped clean.

Illegal immigrants disrespecting Americans is becoming a “trend,” some say. After Jhoan Boada, 22, one of the suspects in assaulting the police officers, was videoed flipping the bird with both hands, people have become outraged. In New York, a 26-year-old Palestinian migrant, according to police, stole a homeowner’s US and Israeli flags out of his yard and then beat him to the ground while yelling antisemitic slurs, Fox News reported. Host Harris Faulkner said:

“This is about coming to this country and demanding the food is not good enough, this is about coming to this country and crawling through spaces undetected so that they can break more laws when they get here, because otherwise they would go through a port of entry. What this is about is when people break our laws, they put their middle finger up to the cameras.”

Fox News’ Emily Compagno weighed in as well:

“The video of your neighbor, of my neighbor, being attacked on his lawn is not only an assault, but an attack on all of America. Isn’t that the whole point that we’re talking about? That flagrance, the absolute lack of respect… the lack of respect for anyone trying to enforce the laws.

“There is a problem now to all of us Americans. It is illegal immigration, and it is the fact that in every breath of this commander-in-chief, Americans are being prioritized last and that attack is just the tip of the iceberg. When is it going to be you or your neighbor next?”

Mayorkas Impeachment Debacle

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas barely escaped being impeached this week, but he’s not out of the woods quite yet. Although the floor vote on February 6 in the House of Representatives looked to be a tie, Republican Blake Moore of Utah switched his vote from nay to aye, which allows the motion to be reconsidered.

Mayorkas has continually been criticized for his non-action regarding the illegal immigrants surging into America during the administration’s open border policy. Until recently, both he and the president have insisted there isn’t a border crisis.

This administration’s open border policies are dividing America. As Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman said, “These are not the type of people who come to America like my great-grandparents did, like your great-grandparents and grandparents and parents who came to America to kiss the ground. Instead, they spit on our flag, they trample on our values and the commit crimes. And they do so at taxpayer expense.”
