OPINION

There may have been more outright venal popes than the current one, but when it comes to sheer cretinous stupidity, Pope Francis is in a league of his own. At least John XII had the feeble excuse of being a teenager (which is to say, stupid, arrogant and hormonally impulsive) when he was elected.

What’s Frankie’s excuse for frankly insulting behaviour, such as demanding all Christian regalia be banished from sight for his visit to Malta lest it ‘upset’ the hoards of Muslim ‘migrants’ who’ve swarmed the Mediterranean island?

Francis is ever so accommodating of the glass-jawed, violent fragility of Muslims.

Everybody else, forget it.

Pope Francis met separately Wednesday with relatives of Israeli hostages in Gaza and Palestinians living through the war and set off a firestorm by using words that Vatican diplomats usually avoid: “terrorism” and, according to the Palestinians, “genocide.”

Of course he did. Because, as we all know, when Palestinians launch a raid into Israel with the sole objective to murder, rape, and abduct as many Jews as possible and when Palestinians unrelentingly advocate the extermination of Jews first in their homeland then around the world, that’s totally not genocide.

It’s only “genocide” when Jews defend themselves.

And, of course, this certified idiot is only too willing to offer up gems of his strategic genius.

“Here we’ve gone beyond war. This isn’t war anymore, this is terrorism,” Francis told the crowd. “Please, let us go ahead with peace. Pray for peace, pray a lot for peace.”

Word up, Francis: if you really want peace, pray for Israel to finally obliterate the genocidal savages of Hamas. If Palestinians really wanted peace, they would, for the first time in their wretched existence, put their energies into building a functioning state instead of relentlessly trying to massacre Jews.

Francis has called for an end to the war and tried to maintain the Vatican’s typical diplomatic neutrality in conflicts.

So, “diplomatic neutrality” includes falsely accusing one side of “terrorism” and “genocide”? Well, who knew?

“He knew that Gaza has no water,” said Shireen Hilal, who lives in Bethlehem in the West Bank but was part of the delegation. “He knew that there was no electricity. He knew that there is no medicine.”

Because Palestinians keep cutting up their water pipes to make rockets. Because Hamas keeps stealing fuel for the generators. Because Hamas keeps stealing medicine.

It’s almost like Hamas is the problem. Yet, Palestinians still staunchly support the Jew-murdering terrorists.

And Francis, the Pontiff of Piffle, has their back.
