Wimps.
At a sporting National Competition I noticed the Honours Board listed the winning teams for the 119 years from 1903 to 2022… continuous play right through two World Wars, a Depression, the Spanish Flu, the Polio Epidemic of the 1950s, and countless normal Flu, Measles etc.
They shed a tear, buried the dead, and life went on. But ‘No Play’ for 2021 when the dreaded Covid struck. When sanity fully returns (as it always eventually does), the Covid response is going to be up there with the Witch Burnings of the middle ages as an example of political hysteria… with a larger death toll due to other treatments suspended.
What unworthy wimps our leaders are, with a few honourable exceptions like Sweden, and Florida.
