Do you remember how Christian sportsman Israel Folau was attacked and cancelled because of his answer to a question on social media about homosexuality?

Well, now it is the turn of Idrissa Gueye – a Muslim soccer player for French team Paris Saint-Germain. Unlike Folau who was cancelled for what he said off the field in his private time Gueye’s religious views have interfered with his ability to do his job.

[Idrissa Gueye] refused to wear a jersey adorned with rainbow-coloured numbers in support of an LBGTQ agenda and sat out his team’s 4-0 Saturday win against Montpellier

It will be fascinating to see the differences in how this case is handled compared with how Christian Folau was treated. Certainly, New Zealand Muslim sportsman Sonny Bill Williams has got away with refusing to wear a sponsor’s rugby shirt because of his Muslim religious beliefs in the past.
