The way Israel Folau has been treated has been shocking. But just like the American news story of the Christian bakers who didn’t want to bake a cake for a gay wedding, the media is not interested in shining the same spotlight on Muslims.

Many Muslim bakeries did not want to bake cakes for gay weddings either but only new media commentator Steven Crowder was prepared to make that point. Once he made his point and provided the video evidence the Muslim bakeries (unlike the Christian bakery) were not targeted by the mainstream media or with lawsuits by gay couples and they did not have their businesses destroyed.

Imagine what it would be like for famous New Zealand sportsman Sonny Bill Williams if the media decided to target his beliefs the way they targeted Australian Christian sportsman Israel Folau.

How uncomfortable would it be for him if he was asked what his beliefs are on homosexuality and what his religion says about it? Imagine how uncomfortable it would be if he was asked what punishment Islamic law prescribes for homosexuals. Imagine if he was asked his opinion on Sharia law in various Islamic countries where homosexuals can be stoned to death and thieves of any age can have their limbs amputated.

Sonny Bill Williams has not been afraid to use his high profile to promote his Islamic beliefs in the past. He even refused to wear a sponsors bank logo on his jersey because of Islam’s restrictions regarding banking.

Maybe he could comment on the below news story if journalists had the courage to ask him the question.

Five of the 37 ‘terrorists’ tortured and beheaded by Saudi Arabia were gay lovers, say confessions ‘extracted by Bin Salman’s torturers’ in nation where homosexuality is punishable by death
