The United Kingdom has announced that mandatory vaccine passes will be scrapped, as will the mandatory wearing of masks.

Sweden has announced that negative Covid tests will no longer be required to enter the country.

What will it take for New Zealand to do the same?

In the last week, Pfizer, the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the European Medicines Agency (EMA), have all walked back the vaccine booster programme.

The WHO’s chief scientist says: “There’s no evidence right now that healthy children or healthy adolescents need boosters.  No evidence at all.”

More and more public health data from around the world shows that the vaccines do not protect against catching Omicron.

Ashley Bloomfield, NZ Director General of Health agrees with the data.  He said this week: “It’s quite clear that Omicron does escape vaccinations.”

So why are we continuing with border closures, vaccine mandates, and other restrictions?

What we have is not a medical pandemic.  It is a pandemic of 120 MPs in the Beehive who will not admit they are wrong.

New Conservative implores Parliament to have an open debate, looking at the worldwide data and, on the clear evidence seen, ease requirements and restrictions here in NZ.
