As I reminded BFD readers, it should not be forgotten that university students were early and enthusiastic adopters of Nazi ideology in the Third Reich. Students, as the Holocaust Encyclopedia relates, “often interrupted lectures, provoked skirmishes, and physically intimidated Jewish students”.

They’re at it again. Yes, nearly a century after the first go, the very people who call you “Nazi” are going full brown-shirt on university campuses across the West. In Australia, they’re marching into classrooms and demanding shows of loyalty — and photographing dissenters.

In the US, they’re already resurrecting Brownshirt violence.

A Yale University student attended a protest Saturday night as a student journalist covering the event but was stabbed in the eye with a Palestinian flag when the attacker realized she was Jewish.

Sahar Tartak, alongside her friend who was wearing Hasidic Jewish attire, attended the protest where she was filming as the Yale Free Press editor-in-chief. While she was reporting on the event of 500 demonstrators, she and her friend were identified as Jewish. They were surrounded and blocked from leaving by the protesters.

Like the old-school Brownshirts, these thugs are very brave when they’ve got dozens of their fellow anti-Semites to back them up.

At another Ivy League university, anti-Semitic leftists are making open terrorist threats to Jewish students.

Footage taken last week shows a pro-Palestine demonstrator holding a sign near a Jewish counter-protest that said “Al-Qassam’s Next Targets”, a reference to the armed wing of Hamas.

In another incident, Jewish students were told to “go back to Poland”. Some chants of pro-Palestine protesters expressed open support for Hamas’s terror attack on Israel on Oct 7.

And just like the Brownshirts in the 1930s, they’ve got the full backing of the regime.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.), appearing alongside President Joe Biden on Monday, praised the anti-Israel campus protests that have sprung up across the United States.

“It is especially important that we remember the power of young people shaping this country today, of all days, as we once again witness the leadership of those peaceful, student-led protests on campuses like Columbia, Yale, Berkeley, and many others,” the New York Democrat said at an event in Virginia with Biden commemorating Earth Day.

After Ocasio-Cortez spoke, Biden urged the audience to “listen to that lady.”

So, the president is openly siding with violent anti-Semites.

The Democrats, the party of the KKK it must be remembered, haven’t really changed their sheets, then. After all, it was Biden who eulogised a former KKK Grand Dragon (hilariously, AP tries to “fact-check” Robert Byrd’s past, by asserting that he was only ever an Exalted Cyclops. Well, that makes all the difference.)

Of course, Biden is trying to play both sides of the razor wire, by mouthing platitudes about “anti-Semitism”, but it’s all-too telling that his first response to violent anti-Semitism was to witter about “Islamophobia”, instead. Even his so-called “anti-Semitism strategy” was in fact crafted by the notoriously anti-Semitic Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group also linked to fundraising for Middle-Eastern terror.

In 2007-8, CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the terror financing trial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development. That case, in turn, led the FBI to discontinue its work with the organization. In 2009, a federal judge ruled that the government “produced ample evidence to establish” the ties of CAIR with Hamas, the Palestinian terror organization. The United Arab Emirates labeled CAIR a terrorist organization in 2014 (a decision that the Obama administration opposed).

Still, at least a few Democrats are remembering some common decency.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) — who has been vocally pro-Israel — made the connection between Columbia and the Charlottesville riot, saying: “Add some tiki torches and it’s Charlottesville for these Jewish students.”
