Dear Editor,

I thought I would forward you the school email we received prior to lockdown. My child in year 12 said teachers were talking about subjects being loaded to online learning on Monday, much to his surprise. He thinks they were being warned of the lockdown. It seems the schools knew at least a week before.

We received the e-mail on Sunday evening the 15th of August. The relevant last paragraph of this school email is telling, it states:

I feel it is important to remind you that as we vaccinate as a nation to combat this virus we have to be prepared to shift into Alert Level 4 with very short notice (2- 3 Hours). The school and teachers are prepared with online learning, but hope we do not need it.

Prepare/plan for the worst, celebrate the best situation now.

Kind regards,

High School Parent
