Dear Reader,

On behalf of The BFD team, I would like to thank you for your interest, participation and support over the last 12 months  and wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year.

2020 has been an extremely tough year for many New Zealanders. It’s not just the lockdowns and the loss of jobs, business and income, but there is also a growing sense of unease about the direction our country is headed.

Our core values including equality under the law, free speech and democracy are being threatened by Socialism and identity politics.

Opinions that do not fit the prevailing narrative are being censored and silenced. Some legacy media have refused to publish contrary opinions. Books by politically incorrect authors have been withdrawn from sale, and many of those brave enough to speak out are being victimised – their careers destroyed.

It has been a long time since we have had such a strong left-wing government and one with an outright majority and unbridled control of New Zealand.

The tragedy is that many New Zealanders appear to have no appreciation of the dangers.

The Government’s planned ‘hate speech’ law changes are a new threat to our freedom. We already have sufficient existing laws to penalise those who incite violence but now our Prime Minister wants to strengthen and expand them to include religion. By creating a new offence under the Crimes Act, she will be criminalising people for expressing non PC opinions which potentially could result in people being imprisoned for up to 3 years!

The Fourth Estate, which traditionally we have relied on to defend public freedom and rights, is failing to protect us. Most legacy media in New Zealand demonstrates an obvious bias in their reporting. Some even lean towards propaganda, using language as a tool of manipulation.

It will be interesting to see if Stuff, after its embarrassing, grovelling apology to Maori for centuries of alleged ‘misreporting’, can survive but a perceived increase in State control of the media is causing many New Zealanders to look to alternative New Media sources for information and news.

The bottom line is this: if The BFD is to keep the flame of freedom and democracy alive in 2021, we need your support. To enable The BFD to be your voice, standing up against identity politics, socialism, propaganda, and intolerance of others opinions and beliefs please support our Christmas fundraiser – either through a monthly or a one-off donation – by clicking HERE, or by becoming a member of our community.

Whether we like it or not, an fight is underway for the heart and soul of New Zealand. With your backing, The BFD will battle for our country and our way of life. Together we will make a difference – we will defend our future.
