How long do You Appease a Warmonger?

2020 has started with a boom, literally, and the world now waits, with apprehension, the ramifications of the elimination of Qasem Soleimani, and the subsequent targeting of US bases.

One question that the US top brass must have been asking themselves is, “How long do we tolerate, excuse, or appease a warmonger that is not just threatening, but attacking our people?”

Neville Chamberlain’s theory of appeasement had massive ramifications and although no-body really wants to start a war, everyone knows that at some stage you either rollover or you fight.

Closer to home we too have a choice. Roll over and watch the New Zealand we love get sold down the river to socialist ideologies and international control, or actually stand up for what we believe, what we hold dear, and for those we love.

I see no socialist nation that I would like to live in. Nor do I see Islam as the answer to the world’s problems. What I do see is that the most advanced, free and prosperous nations on earth are all based on democratic systems and Judeo-Christian ethics.

This raises the question then of why is our current government so determined to abandon the values that have made New Zealand such a great country to live in, in favour of ideologies that have never worked, and individuals have fled from, for decades?

New Conservative is standing for three main issues this election year.

Freedom. Free speech, freedom of religion, freedom to run your business or farm, freedom to choose your child’s education, freedom from excessive taxes through smaller government.

Families. Promoting the role of the natural family in providing the best environment for individuals to grow, develop and reach their full potential.

Democracy. Enhancing our democracy by enabling New Zealanders to direct the government where necessary between elections through binding referenda.

There are some huge questions that need to be asked and answered this year.

• Are the billions of dollars we send offshore as carbon credits each year actually saving the planet, or would we do better targeting specific pollution sources to make a real international difference?
   
• If those carbon credits have made no difference to date, then why would we increase the penalties, crippling our economy and sending businesses to the wall for no discernible advantage?
   
• Having spent hundreds of millions on the gun buy back (confiscation), has the government made the community safer, or would spending that money on targeting gangs and drugs have made a bigger difference?
   
• With alcohol being a mind altering substance, controlled and regulated by the government, yet still causing an estimated $5-8 Billion harm each year, will legalising cannabis make any sense?
   
• New Zealand has the unenviable record of having the worst teenage suicide statistics, so is it wise to legalise assisted suicide?
   
• When does life start? Because if it is before birth then abortion becomes pre-meditated murder.

There are plenty more, but if New Zealand is to be a better, safer place to live and raise a family, then we must address the cause of negative issues, not just throw money at the issue.
