Newstalk ZB audio from two days ago on the 10th of September.

It is interesting to see that half of what Hooten said has transpired. Let’s hope he’s wrong about the rest!

Matthew:

…this matter because they are in the pocket of the Labour Party and the Ardern cult.

Heather:

Yeah but… no, but to be fair… to be fair, there’ve also been quite serious legal threats and they could be changing their minds as well.

Matthew:

Yeah, well they did have no such problem when John Key pulled the pony tail, did they? They had no such problem, as Trish was saying with Russell McVeagh…

Heather:

I’m not sure there were QCs involved in that.

Matthew:

…with the lawyers. Well, the media, the left-wing daily media, was quite happy to take on Russell McVeagh…

Heather:

I take your point… I take your point.

Matthew:

…but they will not attack the Ardern cult because they are left.

Heather:

Okay. Trish, it’s an interesting point that you make because I have thought about this and I thought okay so we’ve sprung the prime minister clearly not telling the truth on this one or forgetting, conveniently, something – so what? Don’t we expect this of politicians? Isn’t that the problem here?

Trish:

Well, I… yeah… I’m not… I’m not, you know, shadow boxing around some conspiracy around media, I just think it’s an interesting commentary on the weighting given to this. Obviously we had a similar thing last year which was ah… through ah… the National Party and our allegations there of um… of… um… of… of… bully etcetera, um… and I just think the whole… the whole thing says to me something about parliament and about the culture there and, you know, we have had a um… an enquiry there by Trevor Mallard, but it… it just says to me that potentially there is a um… there is a different focus there and… and what I read of this young woman’s allegations in the Spinoff, what concerned her is when she raised her allegations her view was: the questions were more about ah… who knew about this, not what had actually happened, and I… and I found that quite upsetting.

Matthew:

Can we also… let’s cut to the chase – we all know who this person, this alleged offender is, in this room, and most people in Wellington do. He is a very well connected, highly ranked Labour Party person, he is part of the woke liberal left wing Ardern cult. That is why he has been protected by Ardern, that is why she’s prepared to say things to the media which cannot possibly be true in order to defend him. Ah, and that is why large elements of the Wellington left wing media in that press gallery have defended him – because they have been out partying with this guy in Courtenay Place. They like him. He is there friend.

Heather:

Don’t know if it’s true or not, don’t know if it’s true or not.

Matthew:

It is true.

Heather:

Very quickly – I’ve got to get it out of you guys, in like ten seconds each ‘cause we are out of time here. Um, what happens next Matthew?

Matthew:

What happens next is that the cover up continues. Um, I see that the Labour Party President is holding his own. I don’t think that’s sustainable.  I think he will go and Ardern will survive ah, and ah, the media will continue to cover up her role.

Heather:

Trish?

Trish:

Well, what needs to happen here next is there is a proper process of… of ah… of… of justice around these allegations and that’s where I would leave it, at this point if these allegations are true and of… of the nature that has been reported then it is… it is an investigation by the police, I think, is the next step.

Matthew:

They are not going to want that at the beehive.

Heather:

All right. We will have to leave it there.

I am happily a New Zealander whose heritage shaped but does not define. Four generations ago my forebears left overcrowded, poverty ridden England, Ireland and Germany for better prospects here. They were...
