OPINION

On Friday and Saturday, I assisted the Rebel News team with the New Zealand book launch of Avi Yemini’s new book, Rebel From the Start.

For those who missed the Auckland and Wellington events, I have permission from Patrick Lim to use his footage of the Wellington event so that you can get a feel of the content on offer at the launch.

Contrary to the left-wing attacks on Avi Yemini, there wasn’t any of the divisiveness that is all too often claimed.

His tour shows up just how appalling the media hit job on him was that led the NZ Police and Immigration to collude to prevent him from coming to New Zealand.

Without brave leakers who provided documents to the BFD, Avi Yemini might still have been prevented from coming here.

Wellington Cathedral cancelled the venue at midnight on Friday. We literally had hours to find a new venue and Brian Tamaki stepped up, along with Wellington Pastor Heker Robertson, to offer us a venue and also some burly men, just in case Antifa wanted to rumble. It turned out they didn’t.

The videos below have been provided by Patrick Lim, as well as some stills. The rest of the images are all mine.

I had the MC duties at both events, and we got to hear from Rebel Commander Ezra Levant, Rukshan Fernando, Chantelle Baker and, of course, Avi Yemini.

After we cleaned up, the Destiny Church men who assisted wanted to express their gratitude and their respect for what they had heard. This was very moving, and I know it affected Avi and the rest of the Rebel News staff.
