This is the last of three articles exploring using ChatGPT3 to write an article. I explained what I was doing and you can read article one here. Article two is here.

I asked ChatGPT3 to write an article with the opposite text prompt to that used originally. In this case the prompt was:

Write a 500-700 word article explaining why Microsoft Word is better than Libre Office word processor .

Word count is 549. The output is only factually so-so in my opinion. I could not have written it because I donā€™t believe the original premise is correct, for me and my use case.

The Waluigi Effect of AI:

The Waluigi Effect (Waluigi comes from the Mario computer game franchise) is where training an Artificial Intelligence machine (AI) to do something also trains it in the exact opposite as well. Waluigi in the Mario games is Marioā€™s rebellious counterpart.

The article is not edited at all, I simply copied and pasted it. So you can decide how well ChatGPT3 did.

Microsoft Word and LibreOffice Writer are two of the most popular word processors available today. While both offer a wide range of features and functionality, there are several reasons why Microsoft Word stands out as the better option.

First and foremost, Microsoft Word has a more user-friendly interface compared to LibreOffice Writer. This is largely due to the fact that Microsoft has been refining the user interface of Word for decades, making it highly intuitive and easy to use. On the other hand, LibreOffice Writer can be a bit more challenging to navigate, especially for users who are not accustomed to open-source software.

In terms of compatibility, Microsoft Word also has the edge. While LibreOffice Writer is capable of opening and editing Microsoft Word documents, the reverse is not always true. This means that if you need to collaborate with someone who is using Microsoft Word, it is much easier to do so if you are also using Word. Additionally, many companies and organizations use Microsoft Office as their standard software suite, so being proficient in Word can be a valuable skill in the workplace.

Another advantage of Microsoft Word is its superior formatting capabilities. With its powerful tools for formatting text, images, and other elements, Word makes it easy to create professional-looking documents that are visually appealing and easy to read. In contrast, LibreOffice Writerā€™s formatting capabilities are somewhat limited, which can be frustrating for users who need to create complex documents.

Microsoft Word also offers a wider range of templates and themes, making it easy to create documents that look great right out of the box. Whether you need to create a resume, a business proposal, or a newsletter, Word has a template that can help you get started quickly and easily. LibreOffice Writer, on the other hand, has a much smaller selection of templates and themes, which can be limiting for users who are not skilled in design.

When it comes to collaboration, Microsoft Word also has a number of advantages. With its cloud-based features, users can easily share documents with others, make real-time edits, and leave comments and feedback. Additionally, Word offers built-in tools for tracking changes, which can be incredibly useful when working on a document with multiple contributors. While LibreOffice Writer also allows for collaboration, its features are not as robust as those of Word.

Finally, Microsoft Wordā€™s spell-check and grammar-check tools are far superior to those of LibreOffice Writer. Wordā€™s spelling and grammar tools are based on a vast database of words and phrases, making it highly accurate and effective. Additionally, Wordā€™s autocorrect feature can help catch typos and other errors before they become a problem. While LibreOffice Writerā€™s spell-check and grammar-check tools are also effective, they are not as powerful as those of Word.

In conclusion, while LibreOffice Writer is a capable word processor, Microsoft Word is simply the better choice for most users. With its user-friendly interface, superior formatting capabilities, wider range of templates and themes, robust collaboration features, and powerful spelling and grammar tools, Word is the clear winner when it comes to creating professional-looking documents that are easy to read, edit, and share. Whether you are a student, a professional, or just someone who wants to create great-looking documents, Microsoft Word is the best tool for the job.
