It’s often said of the left that if they didn’t have double-standards, they wouldn’t have any. Victorian premier Daniel Andrews is easily the furthest-left state leader in Australia. Naturally, he’s got double-standards in spades.

This is, after all, the premier who did nothing when thousands of leftists blatantly ignored COVID restrictions and crowded into Melbourne’s CBD to cheer on their lunatic conspiracy theory du jour. Yet “Dictator Dan” didn’t hesitate to send in the goon squads kicking down doors when pregnant mothers dared to mention anti-lockdown protests on social media. Even as Melbourne was yet again locked down, Andrews bent the rules to allow mega-rich tennis stars into the city.

“Double-Standards Dan” is striking yet again.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has been accused of a “double standard” for allowing revellers to gather for a massive music festival but cancelling the Anzac Day march.

RSL Victoria announced earlier this month that the annual parade to recognise and remember Australia’s war veterans would be cancelled for a second year in a row due to COVID-19.

But as veterans’ families come to grips with the decision, pictures from the SummerSalt music festival on the Mornington Peninsula suggest COVID-19 rules were being ignored.

SummerSalt festival: so much social distancing and so many masks. The BFD.

It’s all left-approved beer and circuses in Victoria. At the same time that Anzac Day is shut down in Victoria, leftist virtue-signalling parades like “Invasion Day” protests were allowed to go ahead. So was the Australian Open, and now the SummerSalt festival.

A Melbourne man wrote on social media of his time there: “I was at SummerSalt music festival yesterday and there was zero social distancing in the crowd.”

Victorian Shadow Health Minister Georgie Crozier told Daily Mail Australia: “Victorians have seen so many inconsistencies and double standards under Daniel Andrews and this is just another example.

“You have to wonder what expert medical advice Daniel Andrews is receiving when there is one rule for certain groups of people and another for others.”

The call to ban Melbourne’s Anzac Day parade for a second year in a row was described as “disgusting” by Vietnam veteran Bob Soutter, 71[…]

“I feel it’s a bit of a joke. There are a lot of veterans who really look forward to the march. Last year we missed out and this year we’ve missed out. Each time you march could be your last.”

But that’s far from “Dictator Dan’s” only double-standard.

After a carefully orchestrated politically-neutered judicial investigation into his disastrous hotel quarantine scheme, which duly found that no one was to blame for the shocking concatenation of failures that lead directly to nearly a thousand deaths, Andrews is pushing ahead with a top-level Royal Commission into Crown Casino.

Tommy Bent must be laughing in his grave, for at long last he’s not the worst premier Victoria has ever seen.
