I was told by one of my daughters that today was the first day of the rest of my life. As that was yesterday, it is already old news as one can only assume that today becomes that day as will tomorrow, and if I make it to next Thursday, that day will take up the mantle.

I explained to my daughter that whilst it is impossible to go through life without embracing clichés, she must avoid them at all cost. I tried to explain to her that it is lazy diction and identifies the lack of original thought. Very pompous of me I know, but I’m her father so I can get away with it. For some reason “I have a bee in my bonnet” about clichés. And the frustration has only accelerated during the reign of Ardern.

Ardern apparently has some qualification that identifies her as a learned scholar in the art of communication. Clearly she was missing on the day that they raised the topic of cliché avoidance. The nation has been subjected to a pandemic of cliché pollution over the last three years which has become a much greater threat to our mental well being than any virus. It all started on day one: remember “Nine years of neglect”? And it continued excruciatingly right through the three years to her latest gem “team of five million”.

The BFD

The MSM also love this tripe as it avoids the need for an original thought. Apparently their promotion of Ardern’s clichés diatribe is a requirement which is specifically designed to target their brain dead audience in an attempt to ensure they remain in a state of ignorance until the next election.

I believe Judith Collins will exploit this nonsense. She will expose Ardern as the airhead that she is. Ardern is about to get a lesson in communication that no university can deliver. There is no greater qualification than basic intellect. Judith will bury her. So “let’s take it to the next level”, “it is what it is”. Judith will “work smarter not harder” whilst Ardern will learn “there is no I in team”. “Failure is not an option”. Go Judith.
