George

If ever a person has had her shortcomings superseded by major events, it is our PM. The performance of her government over the last two and a half years has been appalling with her leadership being exposed as weak and ineffective. But amazingly this same person when confronted with a diversion, not of her making, nor requiring intellectual intervention, shines like a beacon of hope in the eyes of some.

Christchurch and now COVID-19 have been her shelters. Compassion is a virtue, and how she has exploited it. Never one to let an opportunity to self promote go unattended, she thrives on being the messenger of others’ intellect with the pretence of authority. The more I observe her, the clearer the posturing has become.

Last night I watched Paul Henry interview Sir Michael Hill. What a contrast when two men who actually know what they are talking about deliver a message that can only be acquired by years of hands-on experience in the real world. This only exposes the flaky imbecilic decision to extend the lockdown on commercial endeavour.

The PM’s aspiration to be the best in the world by eliminating — or is it containing — COVID-19, is being pursued at a cost from which our country may never recover. And what is more alarming is that this same government may be re-elected, with this same egocentric PM at the helm to implement the road to recovery. God defend New Zealand.

The biggest fabrication that has crossed our PM’s lips is this.

“We have done what very few countries have been able to do. We have stopped a wave of devastation.”
