The rest of the world is taking the Covid-19 pandemic a great deal more seriously than our Prime Minister. While Israel moves into full lockdown along with many other countries, Jacinda Ardern is performing PR stunts. The latest is a press conference specifically for children:

New Zealand’s prime minister has held a special press conference just for children, saying the young need extra help understanding the global coronavirus pandemic.

Sitting next to Jacinda Ardern was scientist Dr Michelle Dickinson – who specialises in science communication for kids – and Dr Siouxsie Wiles, who many New Zealanders have come to rely on for calm, practical advice during the crisis.

“Kids ask a lot of questions most of the time, and right now they understandably have plenty about Covid-19,” Ardern posted on Instagram.

That’s why we put on a press conference just for children and their questions.”

“I hope it will be a useful resource to help answer some of the questions from the young people in your life.”

One could be facetious saying she needs to talk to someone at her mental level occasionally, but that would just be cruel. She seems to need the adulation from kids because, I suspect, adults are beginning to see through her.

Jacinda Ardern is not the nation’s mother, she’s the nation’s scatterbrained ninny of a daughter that is becoming tiresome with her antics. She should not be doing the job of parents.

In any case, almost everything she says is overtaken by events faster than she can backpedal on previous statements.

If she really gave a damn about children she’d be shutting down schools as they have in Israel, South Korea, Singapore and Japan.

Instead, she is holding what are little more than stunts.

She needs to grow the hell up and start acting like a grown-up. If she doesn’t then she should let the grown-ups take the big seat.
