Yesterday, a reader reported that on Magic Radio, today’s face of the day, Winston Peters claimed that a decision on Ihumatao was NOT imminent and confirmed what he said last year about “no taxpayer funds” being involved in any settlement. Someone from the National party then texted in to the station claiming that Winston Peters must be out of the loop on the issue.
If you were a gambling man or woman who would you put your bets on? Winston Peters for making sure that any deal did not use taxpayer funds or the anonymous politician from the National party who said Peters is out of the loop and that a decision on Ihumatao was imminent?
Throw into the mix the political gossip we heard about Jacinda Ardern being keen to get it sorted quickly because the Ihumatao activists have threatened to ruin Waitangi day celebrations and you have a car crash of a situation waiting to happen.
