His band The Bluesbreakers had at various times many musicians who would find fame including Eric Clapton, Mick Fleetwod, John McVie, Peter Green, Jack Bruce and Mick Taylor.
Born today in 1944, Twink (John Alder) drummer, singer and songwriter with several acts including The Pretty Things.
Born today in 1947, Ronnie Montrose singer, songwriter and guitarist with Montrose and Gamma, along with session work for other acts.
Born today in 1951, Barry Goudreau guitarist with Boston.
Today in 1963, The Beatles released “I Want to Hold Your Hand” in the UK.
