Remember when Barack Obama gave the green light (and a literal billion dollars cash, on a secretive plane flight) to Iran’s nuclear program? With his usual teleprompter sincerity, Obama promised that it would never be used by Iran to manufacture nuclear weapons. But, then, this is the guy who swore, hand on heart, “if you like your health care plan, you can keep it”. Even NPR called that one their “Lie of the Year”.

So, how’s the no-nukes Iran deal working out? About as well as Obamacare.

The UN nuclear watchdog on Monday said that Iran’s estimated stockpile of enriched uranium had reached 27 times the limit set out in the 2015 accord between Tehran and world powers.

But they pinkie-promised, and everything.

What’s even more alarming is that at the same time, its stockpile of uranium enriched to 60% (near-weapons grade) has reduced very slightly, its overall stockpile of uranium has grown alarmingly. So, what are they doing with all that extra uranium?

The IAEA is concerned that Iran will easily make the leap from near-weapons grade (60%) to weapons grade (90%), according to AFP, which also reviewed the report.

“Public statements made in Iran regarding its technical capabilities to produce nuclear weapons only increase the director-general’s concerns about the correctness and completeness of Iran’s safeguards declarations,” the report said.

This comes as Israel’s war with Hamas and Iran-backed proxies continues. Earlier in February, IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi warned that the conflict could escalate into a nuclear confrontation.

The normal calculus of mutually-assured destruction rests on the assumption that you’re dealing with rational actors who recognise that a nuclear war is a no-win. But Iran is run by a death-cult, obsessed with an afterlife for “martyrs”.

Tensions in the Middle East could spill over and lead to the use of nuclear weapons, said Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi.

The chief of the nuclear watchdog told in an interview with Sky News Arabia: “We fear that the current conflict in the Middle East will expand and have nuclear dimensions.”
In the interview, Grossi also called on Iran to cooperate with the agency on its nuclear program.

Or, what…? They’ll write them a letter?

Remember when Foreign Policy magazine called the Obama administration a “clusterfuck”, which betrayed allies and emboldened enemies? Obama’s dire legacy lingers on.
