A close friend of mine was most unwell last week.  “Ah ha,” she thought, “I’ve got Covid.” Several days of negative RATs later she was still sure she had Covid, and that the results were incorrect. She didn’t trust the RATs. She did everything she has been told to do: isolated, tested, took paracetamol for the terrible headache and sore throat, rested, and felt no better.

She felt no better at all after several days so arranged a phone consultation, as an actual appointment with a GP is a dim memory in these Covid-enlightened days, and it was determined to be a nasty case of strep throat. It was not Covid as she had been led to believe by her symptoms and the constant propaganda from the Government and its ‘experts’. Antibiotics were prescribed, and she is now on the mend.

However, this is a symptom of more than strep throat, and of the fact that the population has been brainwashed into thinking that every ailment is Covid. Every sore throat, fever, cough and loss of appetite. Every sniffle and headache. Even with negative RAT tests, as the misguided Siouxsie Wiles has seen fit to opine.

“It’s one possibility that we’re getting more false negatives because New Zealand is a highly-vaccinated country.”

“We know that lots of people test negative.

Siouxsie Wiles explains why false negatives from RATs are ‘happening everywhere’ (msn.com)

This know-it-all woman, who should have her prestigious award stripped from her, continues to be a “source of truth” on behalf of her government backers and continues to do damage. Now even false negatives are being attributed to our high vaccination rate. How very convenient. Is this yet another unintended consequence of the government’s mandates and actions?

In my friend’s case, the false negative was not a false negative but the correct result. My friend did not have Covid but had been led to believe that Covid is the only game in town by the government narrative.

It was “just a nasty case of strep throat”, my friend told me.

Just strep throat? The complications of “just a nasty strep throat”, untreated or partially treated are these:

  • Rheumatic fever
  • Glomerulonephritis
  • Otitis media (spread of infection to the middle ear)
  • Meningitis (spread of infection to the lining of brain and spinal canal)
  • Pneumonia (lung infection)
  • Toxic shock syndrome (a rare but severe complication of strep pharyngitis, causing severe widespread infection and organ failure); and/or
  • Abscess formation around the tonsils and behind the throat (peri-tonsillar abscess and retro-pharyngeal abscess).  Formation of an abscess behind the throat (retro-pharyngeal abscess) due to untreated or under-treated strep throat infection can lead to severe illness causing pain in throat and neck, difficulty swallowing, and potential respiratory compromise. These abscesses may need to be drained by an ear-nose-throat (ENT) specialist urgently, and hospitalization may be required.

How many cases of “just strep throat” and other nasties have been left without proper medical intervention and treatment?

The symptoms of a streptococcal bacterial infection of the throat, which can also be those of a viral infection, are:

  • Sudden high fever
  • Mild soreness in throat
  • Redness in throat with white patches
  • Headache
  • Chills
  • Loss of appetite
  • Cervical lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes in the neck)
  • Swollen tonsils
  • Difficulty in swallowing food or water
  • Pain when swallowing
  • Nausea and vomiting (seen in younger children)

My friend did not have a viral infection; she had a bacterial infection. And yet the accepting public is being asked to test and test and test – for Covid, a viral illness. Not every respiratory infection is viral or Covid and yet we are now being told that even with a negative RAT that we can still have Covid.

Yes, we can, under some circumstances. But in the case of strep throat the RAT will never test positive, the symptoms will clear with or without antibiotics, and yet the damage can continue.

I feel sorry for my lovely friend, who is university educated, a very smart woman, extremely fit and active, with no health issues, and yet so trusting of the current propaganda that she unwittingly put herself in harm’s way by doing everything she had been told to do. For a completely separate illness with a different cause.

“My assumption that it must be Covid was due to the constant narrative about the only illness around, which meant that I distrusted the results even when they repeatedly said that I didn’t have it. All other conditions are considered secondary, if considered at all.”

My friend.

There is never any mention of the fact that Covid signs and symptoms may also be those of other infections and that a differential diagnosis by a GP is necessary to determine the nature of the illness. Always supposing, of course, that a GP appointment will be available.

Is the population at even greater risk of long-term damage because of yet another unintended consequence, that collection of disasters that this government specialises in?  Time will tell, but no doubt the PM will refute the premise of that question.

I love the RATs. As a former serology lab tech I think they are amazing. As a screening test, they are incredibly helpful.  But Siouxsie Wiles pinks on about false negative results not really being negative at all and that Covid really is there, lurking behind the would-be stripy window of a negative result. She is now advocating avoiding catching Covid to save our brain as it seems that:

“even a mild to moderate Covid-19 infection is enough to impact the brain. Mask up. Scan. Open doors and windows to get fresh air circulating. Get tested and isolate if you are sick.”

And the Covid mantra continues with other ‘experts’.

“University of Auckland professor Rod Jackson said the coronavirus is occurring so frequently right now that anyone with COVID-like symptoms can assume they have virus, unless they get a negative PCR test.”  “It’s too early to say we’ve peaked, and declining tallies are no reason to celebrate as Covid-19 is still rife in our communities.”

Covid is the only game in town. Nothing else gets a look in.  If you are unwell, you have Covid. Except when you don’t.

And they cannot leave the mis and mal twins alone. Dr Margaret Harris, WHO expert stated:

“Misinformation or an ‘infodemic’ has been another difficult aspect to tackle.

“[Infodemic] has been almost as been as difficult to deal with than the actual epidemic created by the virus”, Dr Harris says.

“If people are given wrong information or are given information that leads to mistrust, they don’t take the actions that really protect their health.”

Like a vaccination that can and does cause horrendous side-effects – and death. That protection of our health?

Dr Harris continues that “for New Zealand to be prepared for the rest of the ‘raging pandemic’ and any future pandemics, we need to trust science and not have politics interfere with the response, which she says has happened in some countries.”

This government has done nothing but interfere with the Covid response. Covid has been completely politicised and used as a platform for grandstanding and indoctrination on a daily basis so that it is the only game in town.
