Man Down is very much a story for the times, and not just in New Zealand. While Kiwi readers will appreciate its local touches — the pompous dipping into Te Reo by certain characters, for instance — all of us in the Western world can enjoy its sharp barbs at bien pensant, middle-brow left-intellectualism, the obsessions with statues and “decolonisation”, the decline of book-reading.

We are running another fantastic giveaway for our members.

The prizes are three copies of Man Down a novel by one of our own, John Black who writes a weekly column for Insight Politics on The BFD.

On the 20th of March, we will give away three copies to three lucky BFD members. We will use an online random number generator to select the winners from our membership base and then we will contact the winner via e-mail.

There will be one book for Basic and Bronze members, one for Silver members and one for Gold and Platinum members.

If you are already a member then relax, you are already in the draw.

Thanks for all your support, we couldn’t do what we do without our members.

If you aren’t a member already then sign up for one of our membership plans to be in the draw for a copy of the book.
