The Wuhan plague is, if nothing else, shaking the fault lines in Western society. It’s being exploited by the unscrupulous and power-hungry at all levels, whether state health bureaucrats on a Little Hitler trip or the globalist elite-of-the-elite. More notably, it’s showing us peasants without doubt just who the new Lords of the Realm really are.

Time after time, politicians and bureaucrats who’ve ordered the most draconian abrogation of our freedoms have been caught out flouting their own rules with Ancien Régime arrogance — whether it’s New Zealand’s health minister going to the beach while everyone else is under virtual house arrest or California governor Gavin Newsome dining out with a large group of friends, after he banned ordinary Americans from getting together for Thanksgiving. To make even clearer who’s on top of the heap, Newsome has also designated California’s “entertainment industry workers” (Hollywood, in other words) as “essential” during lockdown.

It’s no different here in Australia.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has admitted to ignoring NSW Health rules by failing to self-isolate after taking a COVID-19 test.

This is the same premier, remember, who “apologised” for the Ruby Princess debacle, but refused to sanction or punish anyone responsible. The same premier who carried on a clandestine affair with a fellow politician accused of major corruption.

Ms Berejiklian had a swab last Tuesday afternoon after question time in anticipation of questions about her hoarse voice.

She stressed the test was precautionary and not required under NSW Health guidelines.

But the Premier admitted she did not go into self-isolation until receiving a negative result, a clear breach of the health direction.

Darling, please: everyone knows that “rules” are for the little people.
She’s better than we plebs and she knows it.

“I took the test not because I thought I had any symptoms but because I was losing my voice and I wanted to make sure I was overly cautious,” she told the Today show.

“If I was an ordinary citizen I wouldn’t have had any symptoms so I wouldn’t have taken the test, but I went over and above.”

Her astonishing insight into what “ordinary citizens” would or would not do is exceeded only by her self-regard. None of which changes the fact that she broke her own rules.

“I’m sure I was in contact with people,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“I didn’t change my schedule. I can’t tell you exactly what I did, I can’t remember[…]

Asked whether she had breached the rules, Ms Berejiklian said that was “down to interpretation”.

Actually, it’s pretty black-and-white:

You must travel directly to and from being tested wearing a mask. Travel by private car. If travelling by taxi or ride-share you must travel in the backseat with a mask on.

Following testing, you must self-isolate and follow the advice below until either advised by your doctor or you receive a SMS message from NSW Health Pathology advising you of the result of your test.

The NSW government website is also absolutely clear: You must self-isolate while you wait for your results.

Seems pretty no-ifs-no-buts.

Unless you’re a politician, apparently. They’re just better than us and they know it.
