#TurnAdern is a fun and harmless political protest that unlike ANTIFA or Extinction Rebellion style left-wing protests does no harm, obstructs no one, abuses no one and is completely peaceful. The perfect right-wing protest in other words. The creator of it is to be congratulated for coming up with a memorable way to show that we don’t like the government without being arseholes about it.

The BFD. #TurnArdern

The only fly in the ointment is that the creator very foolishly thought that it would be a good idea to talk to a journalist about his idea. Unfortunately, he didn’t speak to an ordinary journalist. He agreed to be interviewed by the best in the business. When I say best I mean best at using his sources twice. Once for the original story and then again to ask them how miserable they are when the outrage generated by the original story costs the person their job and gets them death threats or abuse on social media.

Wilson was yesterday coming to terms with his identity being uncovered. “I’ve had MPs, media, direct message saying ‘who the hell are you?’. I’ve said, ‘you wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”

He said he had stayed anonymous partly to preserve mystery and “shock value”. “A lot of my tweets are for shock value. I’ll tweet then I’ll go back to check the reaction.”

It was [sic] helped protect him from expected abuse. “A lot of the lefties can be pretty bloody poisonous,” said Wilson, who recently tweeted a picture of a horse trailer, saying it was Ardern’s Christmas parade float.

Watch this space. For journalist David Fisher this article was just an entree. The main course could well be reporting on an outraged mob’s attack on this bloke and the resulting damage to his livelihood.
