A Statement on Abortion Law Reform by the Council of Disobedient Women

On the eve of bringing an end to antiquated, anti-women abortion laws Green MP Jan Logie intends to write women out of the Bill. With a stroke of the pen, the woke are aiming for total erasure of women. Woman is now a dirty word.

In Australia last year there were only 22 transmen who gave birth out of the 315,000 babies born. There were 58,000 births in New Zealand in 2018, and there was one case of a trans pregnancy that had lots of fanfare in the media. Assuming similar rates to Australia, there may be 0 to 6 transmen having babies per year in New Zealand.

There are about one million women of reproductive age in New Zealand. So are they now to be forced into a “pregnant people” umbrella for the tiny, hypothetical possibility that some females who identify as male will be pregnant?

The Council of Disobedient Women can confirm that there were exactly zero. People with Penises who were pregnant in 2018 in New Zealand, and globally for that matter. (Reference: all of human history).

How are women to discuss issues that concern them if they are to be called pregnant people, vagina havers, uterus bearers, cervix owners, egg producers, child carriers, chest feeders and people with ovaries?

This refusal to utter the word woman, and the reduction of females to assorted body parts, is the opposite of inclusive. It is dehumanising.

What our Prime Minister Jacinda thinks of all this is currently a state secret. Maybe she believes in the miraculous “sex is a spectrum” doctrine. “Clarke and I were so excited waiting to see which of us would get pregnant first!”

Will it be her or Clarke pregnant next on the cover of the Womxn’s Day?
