Poor ol’ Grandpa Joe Biden: it seems he only stops groping children in order to jam his smartly-polished brown wingtips in his senescent gob.

This is, after all, the guy who, during a political rally, told Senator Chuck Graham, “Stand up, Chuck, let ’em see you”. Chuck Graham is a paraplegic confined to a wheelchair. In 2008, Biden called his running mate “Barack America”. He also regaled the Irish prime minister with an anecdote about his mother, “God rest her soul, and, er, although she’s, wait—your mom’s still alive. It was your dad [who] passed”.

Biden’s capacity for making a fool of himself is legendary; and he’s not managing any better during his tilt for president in 2020.

Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed that “poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids,” while addressing the Asian and Latino Coalition in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday.

I’m sure the impoverished Asians and Latinos at the fancy fundraising shindig must have been really impressed.

Biden quickly attempted to clarify his remarks by adding “wealthy kids, black kids, asian kids” to the end of his previous sentence.

At least one person is looking forward to a Biden candidacy in 2020. “Biden was never very smart,” commented President Trump. “His gaffes are unbelievable. When I say something that you might think is a gaffe, it’s on purpose; it’s not a gaffe. When Biden says something dumb, it’s because he’s dumb.”

Like so many of his gaffes, Biden’s mouth ran foul of contemporary America’s neurotic obsessions with race.

The gaffe comes just as Biden was moving past the recent controversy surrounding his praise of two segregationist Democrats, the late Sens. James Eastland (D-MS) and Herman Talmadge (D-GA). Biden invoked the men, who dedicated their careers to halting the progress of civil rights, at a fundraiser in New York City in June while touting his ability to get “things done” in Congress.

The remarks, which were controversial in their own right, only served to underscore his 40-year record of opposing busing to desegregate public schools. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) was quick to rebuke the former vice president over the issue at the first Democrat presidential debate, noting that both men had been allies in his campaign against busing.

Yet, as history shows, Biden was probably right to oppose busing. Busing was a typically-fact-free middle-class “liberal” vanity that caused more harm than good; to black Americans not least. But, with typical leftist hypocrisy, obsessively-brown Kamala Harris immediately pounced on Biden in order to tub-thump her own racial credentials – while conveniently ignoring her own husband’s apparent history of white flight.

Here’s the thing about Biden, though: his gaffes might be a bit boneheaded, but are they really “racist”? Of course not. At worst, they’re a tad “insensitive” – which in itself is cause enough for banishment to the outer darkness of modern leftism – but it’s hardly likely that Biden’s about to whip out a Klan hood and start whoopin’ it up around a burning cross.

What the whole affair really shows, is the endless hypocrisy of the political left.

Joe Biden can joke about “putting y’all back in chains” and that, “You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking”, and still be the Democratic front-runner. Yet, Trump has been endlessly vilified, demonised and violently threatened for far less.

Once again, if the modern left didn’t have double-standards, they wouldn’t have any.
