As I wrote for Insight this week, the entire Black Lives Matter narrative is an idiotic conspiracy theory, devoid of facts or reason. As it happened, on the very same day, the Wall Street Journal came to the same conclusion – at least in regards to police violence.

BLM and its political toadies would have us believe that yee-hawing cops in white hoods are literally hunting down black people every day. This disgraceful lie has metastasized right to the top of the American left. In between groping random children and reminiscing about his ol’ pal Corn Pop, Joe Biden briefly managed to memorise the script, asserting that “bad police” terrify all black Americans. America’s No. 1 race-baiter, Obama, naturally chimed in his poisonous two cents.

Even worse, Obama explicitly takes the side of black terrorism. With spectacular chutzpah even for the guy who ushered Taliban sympathisers to the mic in the Rose Garden, Obama used the memorial for five police assassinated by a BLM terrorist, Obama shilled for the murderer instead. All but spitting on the officers’ coffins and denouncing them as “pigs”, Obama declared that black children were right to fear police, every time.

It was a lie, of course.

This charge of systemic police bias was wrong during the Obama years and remains so today. However sickening the video of Floyd’s arrest, it isn’t representative of the 375 million annual contacts that police officers have with civilians. A solid body of evidence finds no structural bias in the criminal-justice system with regard to arrests, prosecution or sentencing. Crime and suspect behavior, not race, determine most police actions[…]a police officer is 18½ times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male is to be killed by a police officer.

Black Americans’ vastly disproportionate propensity to commit crimes and react with aggression and violence in encountering police is the determining factor, not “racism”. A vanishingly small number of black Americans are shot by police each year – just 9 unarmed blacks in 2019.

Even then, it should be kept in mind that “unarmed” is a slippery term. Michael Brown was “unarmed” – but he was attacking a police officer and trying to grab his gun. A suspect with a loaded handgun in his car during a police chase was also “unarmed”.

If black lives really do matter to BLM, then they’re choosing a strange way of showing it. It’s not police hunting down and killing blacks – it’s blacks themselves.

Those nine unarmed black victims of police shootings represent 0.1% of all African-Americans killed in 2019[…]

On Memorial Day weekend in Chicago alone, 10 African-Americans were killed in drive-by shootings[…]

This past weekend, 80 Chicagoans were shot in drive-by shootings, 21 fatally, the victims overwhelmingly black. Police shootings are not the reason that blacks die of homicide at eight times the rate of whites and Hispanics combined; criminal violence is.

This is not just opinion. This is fact. For anyone with a rudimentary grasp of statistics and an open mind, the facts become quickly obvious.

The latest in a series of studies undercutting the claim of systemic police bias was published in August 2019 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences[…]There is “no significant evidence of antiblack disparity in the likelihood of being fatally shot by police,” they concluded.

A 2015 Justice Department analysis of the Philadelphia Police Department found that white police officers were less likely than black or Hispanic officers to shoot unarmed black suspects. Research by Harvard economist Roland G. Fryer Jr. also found no evidence of racial discrimination in shootings.

Activists like BLM are actually making things worse, by encouraging an aggressive victim mentality, especially among young black men. As the research shows, suspect behaviour figures massively in police shootings. When young black men have been inculcated with the narrative that all police are racists, they are primed to react aggressively to routine policing.

Even worse, BLM are actively inciting terrorism – and black communities are some of the biggest losers.
