Many songs get covered or re-interpreted, the covers often being more successful than the original.

Here are some cover versions of one song along with the original, let us know in the comments which is your favourite, or if you don’t like any of them.

“The Train Kept A-Rollin” is a song written and recorded by Tiny Bradshaw in 1951.

It has been covered by many acts including:

Johnny Burnett and The Rock and Roll Trio in 1956.

Screaming Lord Sutch and The Savages released it on the B-side to the single “Honey Hush” in 1965.

The Yardbirds released their first interpretation in 1965.

The Yardbirds also released a re-worked and re-worded version in 1966 for the film “Blowup”.

It was a staple for early Aerosmith in concert and they recorded on their second album “Get Your Wings” in 1974.

Motorhead recorded their take on it in their 1977 self-titled debut album.

Stray Cats put their spin on it on the 1993 album “Original Cool”.

Just a bloke getting on with life, seemingly becoming less tolerant, more grumpy and politically incorrect as I go.
