Yesterday I quipped on Twitter that Gaurav Sharma’s favourite band was Talking Heads and his favourite song was ‘Burning Down the House’:
It got me thinking though, and I was helped by others on Twitter, that there were plenty of Talking Heads songs to describe the predicament the Labour Party finds itself in.
Some people have described this as Sharmageddon, or the Sharma Sutra where he has 100 ways to screw over Jacinda Ardern.
But I really think that Talking Heads nails it best.
Gaurav Sharma seems an intelligent man, so he has probably realised that theyāre on a ‘Road to Nowhere’;
And this is a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ opportunity;
To expose the ‘Slippery People’;
In a country where weāre told āDonāt Worry About the Governmentā
His interview on Newshub, and his one with Hosking on NewstalkZB has exposed Jacinda Ardern as someone who is ‘Making Flippy Floppy’;
He openly called Ardern a liar, ‘And She Was’, which starts with the lines “Hey!, And she was lying in the grass”…
Not just lying in the grass, but also from the Podium of Truth and in media interviews.
It certainly looks like Sharma is intent on draining Labour’s ‘Swamp’;
Sharma is certainly reading Labour the ‘Facts of Life’;
By airing all these issues and concerns it certainly looks like Sharma is ‘Making a Clean Break’ from politics;
Which can be soul destroying and often looks, from the outside like a “Democratic Circus”;
For Gaurav Sharma this whole journey, complete with smears and innuendo about the good doctor is really about his demand to “Give me Back My Name”;
Meanwhile Jacinda Ardern is desperately trying to give the impression that “The Lady Don’t Mind”;
One thing is certain both Ardern and Labour come out of all this looking like they have “No Compassion”;
And perhaps the album “Stop Making Sense” is the final metaphor for this Government. They stopped making sense a very long, long time ago.
