The tyrant’s jackbooted brown shirts at Worksafe have fined an Auckland gym $12,000 for the high crime of employing unvaccinated staff:
A martial arts and fitness centre in Auckland has been ordered to pay $12,000 for allowing unvaccinated staff to continue working there.
Worksafe confirmed it issued an infringement notice to Oliver MMA on Thursday for failing to comply with the Covid-19 Protection Framework.
“This is the first Covid-related financial penalty handed out by WorkSafe since New Zealand moved to the Covid-19 protection framework. Egregious breaches like this will be treated seriously,” said head of general inspectorate Simon Humphries.
“This business has continued to operate in breach of the rules. That’s not fair to the high number of businesses and organisations who have changed how they operate to keep people safe,” he said.
Humphries said Oliver MMA had made it clear on its social media that “they aren’t meeting requirements and haven’t intended to up to this point”.
Owner of the fitness centre, Steve Oliver, responded to the news on an Instagram video and said the fine was “not great”.
“We’re doing our best to keep everyone happy and safe here,” he said.
Oliver said that the fitness centre would not “segregate based on medical history” and would “never discriminate”.
The business is required to pay the fine in 28 days, and if it fails to do WorkSafe will refer the business to the courts.

They should not pay the fine; they should insist on going to court, then use the case to destroy the tyrant’s diktat as arbitrary and nonsensical. They should make Worksafe justify themselves as to safety and point to the hundreds and hundreds of hours that they’ve been open prior to the mandates without a single person catching Covid, then point to the actual statistics for New Zealand as to death rates and infection rates, and compare those to seasonal ‘flu, for which there are no mandates.
How many people have caught Covid at a gym in New Zealand? And how many from that gym?
Until we had vaccines no one was vaccinated and the gym was perfectly OK to operate 5 months ago.
I’d call the Prime Minister as a witness and throw her own words that no one would be punished for being unvaccinated back in her face. I would then ask the tyrant as she sits in the witness box whether it is “kind” to sack all their staff because they refuse to roll up their sleeves for a toxic poison.
I’d call Ashley Bloomfield and ask him what the risk is if all staff were tested with RAT tests every three days.
The answers to all of that should see Worksafe scurrying for a settlement. There is no justification for these rules, in fact, Ashley Bloomfield recommended that Auckland should be at orange and the rest of the country at green. They should be made to justify the arbitrary rulings that say otherwise.
Make them say it’s about saving lives, then ask why they haven’t banned cigarettes as that would save more lives a year than locking everyone down for a bad ‘flu.
Make them justify it and present all the evidence out there that this is not some Ebola like plague. It barely kills 2% of people over 70 and much less for those under 70. Then raise the adverse events and the deaths from the vaccine…and make them prove it all.
They know they can’t. Discovery documents of ministerial advice will sink the case before it even gets going.
Fight the fines, fight this government and fight the evil that is Jacinda Ardern.
