I have prepared some relevant questions to ask He Puapua author Claire Charters on NewstalkZB tomorrow morning.

Freedom Alert

Keep Tomorrow Morning Free

The author of He Puapua is a guest on NewstalkZB tomorrow morning.

Are you prepared and ready for the Friday, 01 October morning interview by NewstalkZB of the controversial Claire Charters?

Your questions & texts are needed

Charters is the principal author of He Puapua, the separationist document that sets out a future for this country and which this government hid from most of its people until it was exposed recently.

The document has already caused alarm across the nation.

During previous interviews Charters has responded to the criticism that He Puapua is undemocratic. She justifies it by saying it is because “NZ has a lopsided understanding of democracy”.

Lop-sided? That’s truly alarming, don’t you think?

So in order for you not to receive the ‘brush-off’ from her or the interviewer, you need to be well prepared with your phone calls and texts.

Here are a few you could use

I suggest you avoid getting caught up in historical distortions/myths. Instead, say it’s ‘the future’ that is important here:

1)     Do you believe in a democratic society where all citizens have equal rights and responsibilities, and one equal vote?

2)     Is it not true that He Puapua wants to replace what is being called a “tyranny of the majority” by te paati Maori, with what is in fact, a tyranny of the minority?

3)     Where exactly does it mention in Ti Tiriti (the 1840 Treaty of Waitangi) any word that means “partnership”?
(Comments, by a judge, are essentially putting words into a document that are plainly not there).

4) On what basis are Maori considered to be aboriginal? The first settlers, yes. But they themselves have always said they came from Hawaiiki, and it is to there that their spirits depart on death. Hence Spirits Bay in the Far North.

5) How do you, Claire Charters, come to regard yourself as aboriginal when you are, to all appearances, at least three-quarters Pakeha, possibly more?

 6) Given your proposed plan for a 50/50 “partnership”, does that mean Maori will be contributing 50% of all taxes too? Will all the taxation exemptions that iwi now have, be removed?

7) To make He Puapua work, you will be forcing New Zealanders – many of whom are of mixed ancestry, to choose “sides”. What happened to respecting all of one’s ancestors? To quote the PM – We are the Team of 5 Million. We are One People, are we not?

8)  How can giving tribal elite preference, plus unquestioned authority and control over public assets and facilities, lead to peace and prosperity for all peoples in New Zealand? It will be like going back to the Dark Ages, surely?

9)  Like medical people, politicians should aim to “do no harm”. On that basis, how can you justify He Puapua, which aims to subjugate the great majority of New Zealanders?

10)  While not perfect, Western democracies have achieved the most by comparatively uplifting the health, welfare and prosperity of all – including those of Maori descent. Just turn on the TV every night and see the high Maori achievers. So why would you want to ruin that by imposing an apartheid dictatorship?

11) All New Zealanders came here seeking a better life – many to get away from the tribal, caste and social stigmas. Why would you want to re-impose such corrupt and destructive systems in NZ?

12) Any accountant knows a partnership can be any mix of percentages to make up 100%. Why do you propose Maori (who make up 16% of the NZ population) control 50% in your proposed “partnership”?

13) Do you believe that you should be able to enforce your religious beliefs onto others? (Such as the ‘sacredness of the top of a mountain).
