The immense pressure the government’s lockdown and lockdown rules have put on the hospitality industry is (as I predicted) forcing business owners to make controversial decisions in order to try to save their businesses. This owner is trying to keep everyone happy and his staff employed but we all know how this is going to end. It is the sharp end of the wedge. Once you segregate people on the basis of their vax status it is not going to end up anywhere good.

Auckland hospitality industry figure and mayoral candidate, Leo Molloy is planning to segregate his staff when his restaurant, Headquarters, on the viaduct reopens in alert level 2.

Molloy told the Herald vaccinated staff will wear yellow T-shirts and work indoors directly with the clients. Non-vaccinated staff will wear charcoal T-shirts and work outdoors only and kitchen staff and cleaners will wear black T-shirts.
