BREAKING NEWS – it’s official folks, we are living in Te Tai Tokerau Korea. Or at least that is what it feels like. From the Prime Minister down it seems like the whole population is being put through a brainwashing exercise of epic proportions. In fact, I’m starting to think New Zealand is being used as a guinea pig for a far-left UN agenda.
Remember when we were crowing about being the first country to get a free trade deal with China? That was more to do with this country being small enough for China to try and see how it might work for them.
Now Covid has arrived, courtesy of China, and with it has come lockdowns and all manner of restrictions curtailing the patterns of our everyday lives. If we were living in China or North Korea restrictions would be the norm but in western societies they are not.
Like being used by China for a free trade experiment, we are also small enough to be used for another experiment. That is, how a Western democracy would react to the implementation of a far-left agenda. This is the agenda Ardern subscribes to, which is all about controlling the population. Covid has provided her with the perfect opportunity to see how much a normally fairly acquiescent population will be prepared to put up with.
Ardern could be doing this on her own to score brownie points at her next workplace or working in cahoots with the United Nations. After all, most of this far left agenda is being driven by the UN. Ardern is fully supportive of it. How strange is it that, while the rest of the world has woken up to the fact that Covid needs a ‘learn to live with’ strategy, we are still pursuing an elimination policy. Why? In my view, it is the excuse for being able to pursue the points made above. We are a small enough population, a ‘team of five million’ in socialist speak, to use as guinea pigs in a far-left Ardern-UN-coordinated experiment.
How is this possible? In a recent article in the BFD, Rodney Hide might have provided at least part of the answer. Rodney wrote that, back in June the Associate Minister of Health, (Public Health) Dr Ayesha Verrall asked the Covid-19 Public Health Advisory Group to report on the following:
“Is an elimination strategy still viable when international travel resumes”.
The Advisory Group’s answer was “In our current view, the elimination strategy is still viable and, indeed, optimal as international travel resumes. It does not mean “Zero COVID”, but it does mean stamping out clusters of COVID-19 as they occur.” Rodney points out that, without looking at any alternatives, the Advisory Group concludes this is the optimal policy. In effect “Minister, not only is your policy viable, it’s optimal!”
Why would they take that stance?
I doubt tyrants of old received such congratulatory nonsense from their courtiers. It’s a perfect Panglossian circle. The experts endorse the policy. The Government quotes the experts.
Rodney Hide
I think Rodney has got it in one. If that’s not a setup, I don’t know what is. How convenient. Now it’s full steam ahead with the implementation of Ardern’s far-left agenda under the cover of the advice she wanted, from a group of lunatics on a Government-appointed advisory group. This is all far
too cosy for me. It smacks of a deliberate ploy.
Who remembers the old Nash Rambler motor car? They were quite popular in their day. The motor has reappeared on two legs each week with Mike Hosking and Mark Mitchell in the form of Stuart Nash. Nash is a motormouth who rambles on, verbalising nonsense while spouting the Government propaganda lines that “elimination is the best strategy” and “we listen to the experts”. The Government-appointed experts.
The best way to back up this line of assertion is to introduce the fear factor. A number of other so-called health experts are involved in this, led by Ashley Bloomfield and including Michael Baker, Siousxie Wiles and Shaun Hendy who does the government’s modelling.
These people appear far too regularly on our screens peddling their fear, all puffed up with their own importance. These academics, who grace us with their presence from their ivory towers, are completely removed from the real world.
Do they care about people in hardship, businesses going to the wall, the economy going down the drain and the effects on people’s mental health?
Not on your Nellie. These are highly paid idiots who are there to feed us and backup the relevant government propaganda.
Ashley Bloomfield bangs on about going “hard and early” and uses PC language such as “in Tamaki Makaurau”. Michael Baker told RNZ, “We don’t know where the virus is going in the next three months. There are some grim scenarios based on continuing viral evolution”. The pink-haired lady tells us if we don’t behave now, Christmas could be cancelled.
If I had half a chance I know who I’d be cancelling and it wouldn’t be Christmas. Shaun Hendy says level 4 restrictions might have to be tightened if the numbers don’t plateau soon. What does that mean? Perhaps we won’t be able to go out and buy food so the 80,000 deaths he modelled last year will finally prove to be factual (but for this year not last year and from starvation rather than Covid).
Why is the country outside of Auckland in lockdown? There are a handful of cases in Wellington and none in the South Island. The whole of Northland is locked down due to one case in Warkworth which is geographically within the Auckland boundary. This is all bizarre. In fact, why is anyone locked down? The only killing going on is gangs roaming around with guns while police instigate checkpoints on Tamaki Drive and people’s mental health causing them to take their own lives. All caused by the overkill strategies of this government and their foolhardy associates who are able to indulge in their cynical attempts to eliminate Covid.
I smell a rat in all of this, in fact more than one. A group of rats is commonly known as a mischief. That’s exactly what is going on here. A damn big mischief at that. I go back to my original hypothesis. There’s more to what’s going on in this country than just Covid. This Government, led by a far-left ideologist who doesn’t understand our economic values or appear to share our social ones, is dangerous and needs to consigned to the dustbin of history.
The citizens of this country should be very fearful of the ulterior motives being used to achieve a political goal. If that goal were to be achieved we truly would be living in the equivalent of Te Tai Tokerau Korea.
