The Government is going full retard and scaring people into compliance with their unreasonable and excessive over-reaction to the emergence of Delta; entering through their supposedly brilliant MIQ border controls.
The same useful idiots are gracing our TV screens again, running the most awful lines about how “deadly” the Delta variant is. The media constantly call the Delta variant “deadly” or “dangerous”.
But is it?
In a word, No. But don’t believe me, believe the Public Health England and the content of their Briefing Paper 20.
In particular check out pages 14 and 18 in the document:
Remember it is UK Government data, not a conspiracy theory. All data are from February to August 2021.
For people aged 50 and under there have been 265,749 positive cases of Delta, and of these just 71 have died. That is just 0.02%, hardly deadly is it?
Of these 265,749 cases 147,612 were un-vaccinated. That means 118,137 cases occurred in the vaccinated or 44.45%.
In the over 50 year olds there were 33,736 cases. Of these 3,440 were unvaccinated, which means 30,296 were fully vaccinated.
Are you starting to see there is something very out of alignment with the “you must get the vaccine to protect you from the Delta variant” messaging from our Government?
How about we check out the actual deaths though?
Surely there must be way more deaths in the unvaccinated than the vaccinated…right?
WRONG!
In the under 50 year olds there were 71 deaths in total. Of those 48 deaths were in the unvaccinated, meaning 23 fully vaccinated died.
So yes, in the under 50s there were double the number of deaths in the unvaccinated vs the vaccine. But remember the overall death rate was a tiny 71 deaths out of 265,749 cases.
What about in the “vulnerable” post 50 year olds?
There were 670 deaths in total. 465 of these deaths were in the fully vaccinated. 205 of these deaths were in the unvaccinated.
I think we deserve for our NZ Government to discuss these figures and their implications for New Zealand.
The facts don’t match the rhetoric. It is time for grown ups to take charge and start questioning the rubbish being foisted upon us from the ‘Podium of Truth’.
We are being lied to and our country has been locked down for what appears to be a massive over-reaction. Delta is not the Boogey monster the Government is trying to scare you into believing it is.
