Ardern’s behaviour has not gone unnoticed, and this week an overseas observer commented on Jacinda Ardern’s statements made sixteen months ago on 19 March 2020.

“Ardern went completely off the rails during a recent press conference about COVID-19″

Ardern said the Director-General of Health and the Ministry of Health should continue to be our single source of truth against rumour and speculation.

The irony is that Ardern issued these statements in an attempt to close down widespread speculation that the country was about to plunge into Covid-19 lockdown.

In fact, the speculation was the absolute truth because it was only a matter of days before Ardern introduced a four-tier lockdown system which was implemented at Level 2 on 21 March 2020.

An important point to note regarding the ministry of truth is that it controls the timing of the release of information as closely as the information content.

The author holds up Ardern as an example of the lengths to which political leaders will go to ensure the truth is censored, either indefinitely or until the timing suits.

Ardern continues the Covid-19 saga as she started out, by controlling the information flow and the timing of its release.

A well-organized and effective propaganda machine goes a long way in ensuring total control of the Party over the superstate and its residents. The regulation and dissemination of information involves “tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your choosing.”
The totalitarian knows that to rule people he needs to quell all ways of achieving happiness and fulfilment. Therefore, love and sex, two of the most enriching human experiences, are killed and depersonalized.
The Ministry of Truth works tirelessly and meticulously to modify public archives and rewrite history. As a result, “the past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became the truth.
The residents of the superstate are forced to communicate in Newspeak – the government’s invented language. It plays a pertinent role in the Party’s control over the masses.
The Party needs and develops top-notch technology to exercise ruthless control over the residents. Without telescreens, the Thought Police would fail in its objective of surveillance. And, of course, overseeing all of this is Big Brother.
