The Labour Party and Jacinda Ardern in particular have developed a rather poor habit of announcing big things and delivering either nothing at all, or nothing that can in any way be described as even remotely approaching success.

And so, after much fanfare, a promise of 3,000 jobs, and a splurge of more than $100 million to upgrade marae nationwide, we’ve got nothing of the sort:

Newshub can reveal a major Provincial Growth Fund (PGF) announcement made just days out from the election has massively failed to deliver on jobs.

Almost $100 million was earmarked to upgrade marae across the country. It was meant to create more than 3000 jobs, but with half the money already spent, it’s managed just 5 percent of that: 158 full-time jobs.

No matter how many te reo words you wrap around that, it is nothing but abject muhore.

Still, not as much muhore as Auckland Light Rail which has delivered 0% of the election promise, or the government electric vehicles promise which has delivered just 1% of the target, or Kiwibuild, another 1% delivery project.

In fact you could describe the government as the 1% government, as that is all they deliver on their expensive promises.

This government has got an NCEA Not Achieved for almost every promise.
