The above tweet by scribble-faced Maori MP Rawiri Waititi is an example of the casual racism exhibited by some Maori.

Here is an MP, in a race-based seat, using his position to say that white people are an archaic species.

That’s very similar to the furore over John Banks claiming Maori were a stone-age people. The difference is that John Banks was right because his observation is based on simple historic facts that Maori were a neolithic people.

Rawiri Waititi is just an old fashioned racist, but that gets ignored because he’s brown.

The media would be hounding a National or Act MP out of their job if they described Maori as an archaic species that were becoming extinct. Yet they are silent as they attempt to Maorify everything including the name of this country.

The tweet has now been deleted and Waititi has blamed it all on a staffer. Would that staffer be John Tamihere, his father-in-law, I wonder?

It seems you can be astonishingly racist just so long as you are a person of colour.
