The Green Party has attacked the cash-strapped Air New Zealand for daring to make a few bucks in these CCP Virus affected economic times:
The Green Party has criticised Air New Zealand following revelations it has been helping the Saudi Arabian military – despite the Middle Eastern nation’s role in the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
1 News reported that the national carrier’s business unit, Gas Turbines, which specialises in servicing military marine engines and turbines, has been supporting the Saudi Navy.
In a statement on Monday night, Air New Zealand said the business unit carried out work on Royal Saudi Navy vessels through a third party contract.
“The business … occasionally contracts to carry out ad hoc overflow work from third party repair facilities. It is through a third party contract that work has recently been carried out on two engines and one power turbine module from vessels belonging to the Royal Saudi Navy.
“The Gas Turbines business has not contracted directly with the Royal Saudi Navy and will not be carrying out any further work of this nature.”

So, let’s get this straight. The Green party, which is part of the Government, conducts a hit job on a company that is majority owned by the Government of which they are part, over them making some money when said company is on its knees because of the actions of its majority shareholder in shutting down our borders. What a bunch of saboteurs and arseholes.
Worse still Golriz Ghahraman, who seems to like terrorists, is doing so out of solidarity with Houthi terrorists, funded and abetted by Iran.
Predictably the wets in Labour have also had conniptions over supplying engineering expertise to Saudi Arabia, conveniently ignoring that they are actually one of our trading partners.
I bet that Golriz Ghahraman wouldn’t say a word if Air NZ was working with the Iranian military, which sponsors all kinds of terrorism. At least the Saudis are actively fighting terrorists.
Jacinda Ardern is even more ridiculous:
“It just doesn’t pass New Zealand’s sniff test,” Ardern said.
She said there was a question mark over whether it breached New Zealand export requirements, and she was asking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) to look into the matter.
“This is something that has ramifications for New Zealand, its reputation, and that’s why we are making sure we are across how it happened,” Ardern said.
“We do have obligations as a country to make sure that we are applying, for instance, UN sanctions and so on. Whilst it’s not clear whether what happened here would have fallen within that, there are still reputational issues.”
“I’ve already asked MFAT to look into whether it should fall into the obligations that a country has to check that they are fulfilling the export control orders.”

Firstly there are no formal sanctions in place, and secondly, is she suggesting she will sanction the Saudis, with whom we trade, but not the other GCC countries who we also trade with and who are also in coalition against the Houthis? The same Houthis armed by Iran, who we also trade with but don’t criticise?
Talk about thick.
These people are economic saboteurs, literally children playing in an adult world.
Have these idiots forgotten that Saudi Arabia is actually an ally, and we’ve based NZDF forces there since the 1990s Gulf War?
Is the Prime Minister now saying that all trade with Saudi Arabia is at risk?
As for Golriz Ghahraman, why doesn’t she just bugger off, to anywhere but here. It is blatantly obvious that she hates New Zealand as her actions demonstrate. Attacking a NZ business for trying to make a penny on the world stage because it doesn’t fit with her ideals is unacceptable behaviour.
We owe a debt to Yemeni terrorists? She’s bat shit crazy.
But then again we know her moral compass is warped when it is all good to defend a genocidaire and pose for photos with him.
I can’t wait till all these lefty armchair experts who became experts on the conflict in Yemen just yesterday, and who think the Saudis and Air NZ are the biggest problem, find out that the Iran backed Houthis are actually the ones preventing a lot of the humanitarian aid that does get through, reaching those it needs to.
In fact, the blockade isn’t even a “blockade” in the legal sense. It’s very similar to what was happening in Somalia, the aid becomes a weapon.
Meanwhile an avenue to recover some revenue is sabotaged by economic vandals. Perhaps Air New Zealand might like to ban their biggest parliamentary user from flying with them ever again.
