Happy New Year. I know how much you expect and enjoy the hard questions and, given your well documented penchant for doom-porn, I have a dilemma for you to start the new year with.
Your publicity arm – Stuff – have reported that in Norway “a total of 29 people had suffered side-effects” from the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The side-effect is that they died.
Yes, your treasured vaccine has, as of today, killed 29 of the 42,000 who have so far received the jab in Norway. Extrapolating that figure to the entire population of Norway’s Team of Five Million+400k indicates we could see 3,714 Norwegians die from the vaccine as opposed to the 517 whom, so far, in that country have succumbed to the actual Kung-Flu. So at this point, in Norway, seven+ times more human beings, pro-rata, are dying from the cure than from the disease.
If that figure were transposed to New Zealand we could expect 3,452 deaths among our Team of Five Million, should every single one of us receive the vaccine, and given that Norway is much wealthier than us, thanks to oil and gas, and more wealth leads to better health outcomes, statistically speaking, our number might be higher. Who knows?
I realise those deaths reduce to mere trifles the side effects on the unfortunate Israelis and Brits who have facial paralysis or Bell’s Palsy following their first shots, but nevertheless they leave some in trepidation since, “According to Pfizer’s findings in clinical trials, the second ‘booster’ dose causes physiological reactions more frequently.”
Will you accept that negative-outcome relative risk ratio? If not, what do you intend to do about it? Will you be insisting on compulsory population-wide inoculation? And when people start to fall over will you be issuing a press-release like the mealy-mouthed Norwegian Medicines Agency saying:
“that it is possible that common and known side effects of the vaccines may have been a contributing factor to a serious course or fatal outcome”
Will you say in Ardern-speak that negative effects were ‘clearly signalled in advance’ and simply wash your hands of it like Lady Macbeth and your good friend Donald Trump who (according to Stuff anyway) also has “Blood on his hands” as a consequence of Covid fall-out?
