In The Lord of the Rings, the great J R R Tolkien described how the price of peace is eternal vigilance. “Always after a defeat and a respite, the Shadow takes another shape and grows again”. Indeed, despite the seeming happy-ever-after ending of The Lord of the Rings, an abandoned Tolkien short story describes the return of the shadow of evil in the generations following the War of the Ring.
Its enormity is a matter of opinion, but like Tolkien’s Shadow, globalism, after a defeat and a respite, always takes another shape and grows again.
The First World War brought a screeching halt to the most intense period of globalisation in human history prior to the 1990s. Globalisation is not the same as globalism, of course, but the former is a necessary condition of the latter. Globalism as an ideology took shape during the 1990s’ return to intense globalisation.
Globalism has been dealt a staggering blow by the Wuhan plague. But, while down, globalism is far from out.
Like the dark winds stirring in Mordor generations after Sauron’s defeat, the dark lords of globalism are re-gathering their forces.
In his book Covid-19: The Great Reset, World Economic Forum globalist Klaus Schwab asserts that the world will “never” return to normal, despite him admitting that coronavirus “doesn’t pose a new existential threat.”
Indeed, the Wuhan plague is still very much a second-rater, in terms of death and injury, to even the most deadly plagues of the past century. But that hasn’t stopped the political elite exploiting it for all they’re worth.
Schwab has continually pushed for COVID to be exploited to push for a new world order, claiming, “Now is the historical moment of time not only to fight the… virus but to shape the system… for the post-corona era.”
However, he goes further in the book, making it clear that the financial elite will never allow life to return to normal, suggesting that rolling lockdowns and other restrictions will become permanent.
Populations under permanent surveillance, snitching praised as virtue, freedom damned as “selfish”, and permanent, complete state control of which businesses are allowed to operate and under what restrictions.
In other words, the socialist world order that the left have been dreaming of.
“Many of us are pondering when things will return to normal,” writes Schwab. “The short response is: never. Nothing will ever return to the ‘broken’ sense of normalcy that prevailed prior to the crisis because the coronavirus pandemic marks a fundamental inflection point in our global trajectory”[…]
Schwab makes clear that the ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ or ‘The Great Reset’ will fundamentally change how the world operates.
“Radical changes of such consequence are coming that some pundits have referred to as ‘before coronavirus’ (BC) and ‘after coronavirus’ (AC) era. We will continue to be surprised by both the rapidity and unexpected nature of these changes – as they conflate with each other, they will provoke second-, third-, fourth- and more-order consequences, cascading effects and unforeseen outcomes,” he writes.
Unforeseen? Or planned?
A senior U.S. Army official said that mask wearing and social distancing will become permanent, while CNN’s international security editor Nick Paton Walsh asserted that the mandatory wearing of masks will become “permanent,” “just part of life,” and that the public would need to “come to terms with it.”
The scientific evidence for mass mask-wearing is very far from established, despite what the media and bureaucrats would have you believe.
But the political imperative is clear: mask-wearing is an obvious and overweening symbol of total state control.
