The Prime Minister locked down Auckland for a second time and refuses to reduce Auckland’s default setting of Level 2.5. Apparently we have a tricky virus that could flare up again.

She also told all Aucklanders that if we moved about the country then we should behave as though we had the Chinese plague, and so did the people around us. In other words, if you are from Auckland you must become the new style of leper and socially distance.

Except for her, an Aucklander, and especially when it involves sycophantic mobs of well wishes and equally sycophantic news media coverage.

This photo was taken on Thursday in Palmerston North.

No social distancing from the Prime Minister

It seems that the Prime Minister is practicing both the old adage that rules are for thee, not for me and the Orwellian quote from Animal Farm that “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others“.

It shows that the continued repressive nature of restrictions, including wearing masks on public transport, is just a construct designed to give the Prime Minister an advantage in campaigning.

If it is good enough for the Prime Minister to carry on like this thing is fairly innocuous, then it is good enough for us all.

The restrictions must end now.
