Dear Editor

I am enjoying the BFD. Maybe it’s just me but I found these FB reply comments from The Humans Right Commission (or their agent), in a recent voice of racism campaign, totally pernicious (and pretty revealing to the state of play).

I’m 100% for equal opportunity but I worry for all New Zealander’s in regard to a future of mandated “equal outcome” (whatever that is) via installed “Maori Systems” with “actions” by the Human Rights commission to help drive it forward. The rule of law and equality for all New Zealand citizens under it seems to be under serious attack in the current post-modernist age.

Below is the FB post for reference – obviously racism of any kind is abhorrent, but there is some terrifying irony for all New Zealand citizens in the position taken above by a government agency pertaining to be a bastion against racism. While I believe there is no legislated systemic racism currently in New Zealand it appears that this hard-fought proclivity towards equality in one of the world’s greatest democracies maybe soon eroded.

Perhaps this sentiment may be worth a by-line one day. Or perhaps I’m just being precious.

Kind Regards,
Mark.
