When he took over I said that Todd Muller was wetter than an ocean.

He capitulated and made a meal over the woke brigade’s demands for a browner front bench. Instead of cutting Simon Bridge’s throat and standing firm on his refusal to give Bridges Foreign Affairs, he instead caved, promoted him and looked weaker than the reigning Mr Puniverse.

Now he’s caved again, and reacted to the woke brigade whinging about one of his MPs:

Clutha-Southland MP Hamish Walker has been reprimanded by his leader for sending out what has been dubbed a ‘racist’ press release.

The first-term National MP has also been called out by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

On Thursday, Walker sent out a press release claiming that up to 11,000 people from “India, Pakistan and Korea” could be heading to Dunedin, Invercargill, and Queenstown for quarantine.

Walker did not single out arrivals from other countries, nor did he state that they were Kiwis returning home – who along with permanent residents, are currently the only people allowed into the country.

It came after the Government announced it was looking to Queenstown and Dunedin as potential destinations for managed isolation facilities.

Walker’s press release stated that 11,000 people from overseas could be destined for quarantine in the South without any consultation, and he said it was “disgraceful”.

On Friday, National Party leader Todd Muller said he had spoken to Walker and expressed his “disappointment” and “concern”.

“I certainly don’t condone what it says,” Muller said.

When asked what his concerns were, or if he considered the statement racist, he only repeated that he had spoken to Walker and outlined his concern.

Muller repeatedly said: “I had that conversation with Hamish and I expressed my concern and I don’t condone what he said”.

The correct response to the whinging is, “So what?” Not abject apologies to the woke brigade.

Hamish Walker put it best when he responded to the accusations of racism:

Walker said calling him racist was Labour’s “default tactic when they are unable to defend their blatant failures. It’s not about race.”

Which is a cracker of a quote back at Labour. That’s how you confront these spurious accusations of racism. The only trick Hamish Walker missed was calling the countries they were coming from ‘shit-hole countries’.

I swear to God that Muller seems to be taking political tips from the Italian Book of War Heroes and France’s Almanac on How to March Backwards.

He’s reacted yet again and let the woke-tards define his leadership. I always knew Todd Muller was wet but I never knew he liked wading in puddles.

He must hate walking around in sopping wet socks all day. But that’s what happens when you drown your leadership in a puddle.
