The government told us we’d all be safer as a result of their ill-conceived gun confiscation.

We told them that the laws would only affect law-abiding gun owners, not criminals. But Stuart Nash and his cronies knew best.

We told them that if they didn’t follow a sensible process then guns would be driven underground and end up in the hands of criminals. But they knew best.

We told them that the new laws would fail to remove guns from the hands of criminals. But they knew best.

So it is no surprise to see that the Police raid on the Mongols Gang produced some AK-47s:

Police say the senior hierarchy of the Mongols motorcycle gang were arrested in raids across the Bay of Plenty this morning.

The arrests would result in at least 228 charges being laid, Detective Superintendent Greg Williams said at a press conference this afternoon.

Police seized several firearms, including AK47s, a homemade bomb and a raft of Molotov cocktails during the raids.

The majority of the chapter “patched over” after being deported from Australia, he said.

Proof positive that the government’s much vaunted gun laws have failed yet again.

Our gun laws were changed, not because of the actions of a criminal, but as a result of a systemic failure by the Police to enforce the perfectly adequate gun laws that existed.

Now we have seen another failure, semi-automatic firepower, in the hands of criminals.

Perhaps the woke, gang-hugging Police might like to have a word with this gang for their inappropriate gang name while they are at it. It is no longer acceptable to call people with Down Syndrome “Mongols”. I knew gang members were stupid but who knew that they had an extra chromosome as well.
